font size is inconsistent

Using FP2002.

I have a paragraph style called Heading 3 - this is an existing style in one
of the themes. Its Verdana, bold, size 4 (14pt)

I want to set up a character style that looks the same, which I've done
using Format>Theme>Modify>Text>More Text Styles>New....

Despite using the same settings - Verdana - Bold - and 14pt or 4 (I've tried
both) - it doesn't look the same. The result is both heavier and larger.

Any suggestions where I might be going wrong?

I'm beginning to wonder if I should abandon using Themes and just do a css
instead.

Thanks

1. You should not use points to size your characters. This is a print
metric and is not optimal for web use. Please use CSS to size those
characters with pixels, ems, exs, ens, percents, or size names (e.g., small,
large, larger).

2. Normally, headings embolden the text within, so I'm guessing that the
difference is that you are not using bold on your character style. But I
see that you have done this. Are you seeing the difference when you preview
the page in the browser, or just in FP's preview?
I'm beginning to wonder if I should abandon using Themes and just do a css
instead.

This would always be a good idea, in my opinion.

Thank you for showing me the light!

- Have abandoned the style and just creating a css.
- am specifiying font sizes as px

All working well (so far so good)!
