Strangeness with my Outlook 2000 program, running on W98SE

When I compose messages with HTML format, I can no longer select a font. The tool is there and workable, and when I tab to the message body, it stays on what I selevt, but as soon as I start typing, the font changes to TNR. When I highlight and try to change font, it wont take. This doesnt happen if I use RTF for my message format, but I prefer HTML format.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

Hmmmm.... it seems to be tied in to the font that I select in my IE6 browser.. IE6>>Tools>>Internet Options>>Fonts

But it never USED to be locked to that...

Try selecting the font after you tab into the message body. Also, you can change the default in tools, options, mail format, fonts button.

When I tab into the message body, my default font (Arial 12pt) is shown on
the font selection dropdown windows. I can also select any other font style
and size, but as soon as I type a character, it flips to whatever font is
default-selected for "viewing HTML content" in my IE6 browser settings.
Changing my default font has had no effect whatsoever.

The font dropdowns work - that is, they will go to whatever I select, but
they wont stay when I type. And when I highlight text and then try to change
the font, again, the dropdowns drop down, but the font I select will not
stay.
