font? problems in IE

G

gabrielle.

At many websites, apostrophes and some capital letters
display as squares. Also, portions of HTML tags often
appear displayed on the page. For example, at this
website: http://www.mattnathanson.com/, after the picture
of the album it reads:

Matt(square) long awaited new album, ? font
color="#FFCC66">Beneath These Fireworks,? is now...

The page, however, displays fine in Netscape.

p.s. I do believe that an Asian character set has been
used on this computer in the past, could it have something
to do with that?

Thank you!

Actually, Auto-Select was never on, but my browser was on
Unicode when I checked initially and then later it was on
Chinese Traditional! How can I make it keep the preference
for Western European? ((Is there a way I can uninstall
the Chinese option for good?))

Thank you so much for the help!
