Folders on Desktop don't open

I've tried opening the "My Documents" folder on my desktop and it won't open.
Instead an error message pops up that says that "Dr. Watson has encountered a
problem and has to close," and then my computer freezes. I've noticed that
the same thing happens when I try opening other folders from my desktop;
however I can open programs from my desktop. I can get to the files in "My
Documents" by going to start and then documents, so I know that the files are
not gone.

To repair all system files, go to Start/Run, and type (or paste in): SFC /SCANNOW

I am having the same problems as C. I did as you suggested and it has not
solved the problem. Any other suggestions?
