Folder views not being remembered by Windows

I am having the same problem as in the thread entitled `Locking Folder
Contents Format` dated 12 September, in that folder views are not
`sticking`. I normally use List view, except for two folders where I
select Icons view. Up until recently, these two folder views were
remembered, but now they keep reverting to List view, despite my
having followed the instructions given in the reply to the earlier
thread. Is there anything else I can try, please?

Windows XP remembers only 400 folder settings

Merge this with your registry

Increase Folder View Options Limit: (Line 2):

Thank you for the tip, which lead me to instructions in how to
manually change the Registry, which I prefer, as I can see what`s
going on and can then change it back if necessary!
