Folder view problem

Hi all

Is it possible to set a particular folder, _and all it's subfolders_, to a
particular view?

I want to set _all_ my *Audiobooks* folders to *Details*, showing Filenames,
Size and Duration.
I know how to do this for individual folders, but not how to set achieve the
above.

I don't wish to affect any other folders other than *Audiobooks*.
(Keep *Photos* as *Thumbnails* for example...)

(Using WinXP Pro.)

Cheers

You might experiment with this suggestion.

Right click on the highest Audiobooks folder and select Properties,
Customise, and check "Also apply this template to all sub-folders".

Hope this helps.

No go...
I can't make it work...:-(((

To make matters worse, I now hav the blue palel *File and Folder Tasks every
where I go

How do I get rid of it please?
It is useless to me as the font is FAR too small.
(I am nearly blind)

These things are so simple that I can never finf them )

Do I presume that what I was originally trying to do is not possible?
A) at all ?
b) In the Classic view ?

That's what I said...!!!
You only read one line :)

It seems such a simple thing to want to do (i.e. modify a folder view and at
the same time modify all it's subfolders).

This is getting harder tham changing several hundred subfolders one at a
time, Shouldn't take me more than a week, I guess <VBG>

You're welcome. I don't know what you were originally trying to do, I
only saw "tasks issue", so I answered that.

I would prefer to use the Classic view, as I am too blind to read the blue
panel (see my other post, *Files and Folders*)

I don't believe you can set a group of folder with a specific view. It's
either all or nothing, (sort of).

If you go into Folder Options > View settings, check the box "remember each
folders view settings"

Then set the view for each folder that you want to deviate from the standard
view.

It may be quicker to set all files with he more complicated view, then
change folders with pictures back to thumbnail view.

I believe there is a limit of 400 customized folders that windows will
remember.

Thanks for your input.
I am going to give up I think >-((

_Nothing I do seems to affect any folder but the current one.
I can't even add an image to it.

Question:
What's the difference between *Reset all folders* (towhat?) and *Restore
Defaults*?

B

Bob I

No, the "View" is set per folder by picking the view and closing the
folder OR system wide by pressing the "Apply to all folders" button.
