folder tree has unwanted icons

The folder tree has an icon for 'Control Panel' even though it's specifed
that it not be there in 'Tools/Folder Options'. I can't delete the icon.
There is no 'delete' option in the drop down list and the 'delete' key
doesn't work either.

Also there are icons for 'Shared Documents' and 'Owner's Documents' in the
tree that are also not removable from the tree.

All 3 icons appear at the bottom of the tree. The icon for the 'My
Documents' folder is removable (as is normal) and appears in it's usual place
at the top of the tree.

Why are the 3 aforementioned icons there and how can I remove them if I want
to?

What the reference seems to imply is that if Control Panel is not on the
Start Menu, it's folder won't appear in Windows Explorer either. (Essentially
CP has been disabled in this case.) In my case, Control Panel is on the
Start Menu and in the WE folder tree, but not in the WE file display area
(the right side window). My guess is that it's in the tree on purpose,
although it's odd that you can't remove it.

Cool. This would do it. There is also an Owner's Documents folder in My
Computer. I'll try it, but not until I install the new backup hard drive I
just bought, since messing with the registry is something one should not take
lightly. I just had to reconstruct my hard drive and I don't want to do it
ever again.

If no policy is in place preventing it, the Control Panel can be opened
by...

Start | Run | Type: control | Click OK

Hope this helps. Let us know.
