Folder Template

I have the following problem everytime I change any of my folders (ex.
PICTURES, MUSIC, VIDEOS, ETC...) some other folder including those inside
"Drive C" will change their templates to the same one as the one I changed.
For example, right now the folder PICTURES has an specific view, which is
extra large --and as we know if we right click a folder and customize it, it
will let us change the template; thus changing the turquoise-taskbar on every
windows (the one that has unique icons depending on their templates)-- well
my Drive C windows have all the properties of a Pictures and Videos Template
including the blueish-taskbar.

I already went to the Folder Option and in the View tab, I reseted all my
folders, some of the folders, with the problem, get restored but if a change
some other folder, those who have been restored will change again. Also there
are some folders that even if I reset their view in Folder Option, they don't
change they stay with the incorrect template.

What should I do, please!?

*I'm using Windows Vista Ultimate

***Brink you are a genius. This particular problem is so annoying (I do
not know if it is because I'm a little bit excesive compulsive about
organization :p) but you surely knew where to look up. The registry is so
complicated for me... Anyways, thank you a lot, Brink.

Sincerely,

Yondaime :p***

I'm just going to reapply your fixes... and then I noticed a desktop.ini
file created by Vista in a music folder that contains "FolderType=
MusicAlbum"... not that it seems to have any effect, but what gives?

Ah! Default template is back to All Items...

(Though I do wish to point out that I had *checked* and the registry keys
were correct ( i.e. FolderType = NotSpecified) before I decided to re-apply
the registry changes, but Vista wasn't listening)

I wasn't criticising, Shawn, I was just asking if you knew what this was :)
Vista created the desktop.ini file and it created the FolderType =
MusicAlbum... . as I said, what was in there didn't seem to do very much....

But, I'm happy again - with e.g. a Windows folder that doesn't think it's a
Photo Album anymore... that's the sweetest little reg file in the whole wide
world <g>

However, the more I look at it the more templates I want! Big Folder icons
for photo folders, but within them I want Details. Shame that there is no
way of extending the template mechanism... are you listening Mr Microsoft?
