Specific problem: OE email and pop3 config does not
transfer up to the server.
Redirection of the user's Application Data folder to a
private network location was done using the Advanced
feature the %USERNAME% variable as follows,
"\\server\share\%username%\profile\application data"
The user has full rights at this location.
I've logged out and back in several times to see if
synchronization needed a chance to run in order to
transfer the user's email and pop3 config, but this does
not help.
I'm using XP Pro clients and roaming profiles with W2K
server. The user's romaing profile path is established
as "\\server\share\%username%\profile\". I do not have
Exchange and need Outlook Express for external email.
Both; clients and server have all critical and most
suggested patches applied. The Store Folder location in
Outlook Express indicates redirection has been enabled
since the user's logon name is now followed
by ".domainname" in the path, and launching OE reveals
only empty and default mail folders at the redirected
location.
It seems that the only way that I can make this work is to
logon as a domain admin and copy the user's email to the
path indicated by the Outlook Express Store Folder
parameter and then logon as the user and re-apply all of
the mail account pop3 settings.
Any advice on how this should work would be greatly
appreciated.
