folder->properties->security

When I right click on a folder and select properties, the
subsequent windows displays only three tabs - target, general and
sharing. What do I do to make it show "security"? Thanks.

In XP Home you have to boot in safe mode to see the security tab..in XP
Pro you have to disable simple file sharing.

If you do have XP Home and don't want to have to boot in safe mode for
the security tab you can give this a try..

Hi John,

If using Home Edition, start in Safe Mode and log in as an Administrator in
order to access the Security tab.

If using Professional Edition, disable Simple File Sharing (Folder
Options>View tab...scroll down to "Use simple file sharing" and uncheck it)
in order to access the Security tab.
