folder permissions AD

Hi,

I've seen a similar thing posted on here before so
hopefully someone will be kind enough to answer this for
me.

Basically I would like to set-up folder permissions on my
network so that domain users can read files, create files
and list folders. I do not want them to be able to delete
files or delete to be able to delete folders.

I am using Windows 2003 with AD enabled.

This is the way I have set it up when testing.

Top level folder = TEST
(domain admins full wrights)
(users read acccess only)

Subfolder = TEST\TEST FOLDER
(domain admins full wrights)
(users special permissions)

Subfolders = TEST\TEST FOLDER\TEST1
TEST\TEST FOLDER\TEST2
TEST\TEST FOLDER\TEST3
TEST\TEST FOLDER\TEST4
(domain admins full wrights)
(users special permissions)

I am abale to restrict access so that people cannot delete
items and can create new files but I am unable to find the
correct setting to enable users to save back.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Kind regards,
Heichi.

Microsoft Office files do a delete and Add when you change them, so you can deny
blanket delete permissions.

You want to add "Creator Owner" with Read, Write, Execute, and Delete
permissions for files to your existing scheme.

That way, the creator of a file can also modify (and delete) it.
