Folder Now Covers Desktop

How do I delete or move a folder that pops up and covers my desktop. It is a
Dell folder and contains AOLIcon, Digital Jukebox Drivers, JB Series20V, etc.
I have tried right-clicking and cannot delete it. I have to minimize it
every single time in order to see the desktop behind it. Any ideas how to
get rid of it?

I tried the suggestions in the link you sent. When I folloed instructions in
the "resolution", I found that there is no "Dell QuickSet" listed. There is
one entry (Default) (Value not set). Could that have something to do with it?

When I followed the second part of the instruction, the "DellSupport"
already had the quotes around it. Any other suggestions?

Sorry, no since I can't see your computer. Something you have in Startup
references Dell and you need to find it. Use the System Configuration
Utility:

Start>Run>msconfig [enter]

This brings up the System Configuration Utility. Look on the Startup tab
and find the probable culprit. Uncheck the box next to its name, Apply
and OK out. You don't need to restart immediately, but the next time
you do you'll get a dialog saying you've used the Utility. Just tick
the box that says in effect, "don't bother me about this again".

There will be an entry in there pointing to a Dell folder.

I did find the spot you referred to; however, there are 3 folders with the
word "Dell" in them. These are the descriptions under "start up item" : one
is "dlcdmon", one is "memcard", and one is "DSagent".
Any guesses which one should be unchecked?

If you insist on using the web interface instead of a newsreader, please
do not post below a signature delimiter. Real newsreaders strip out
everything after the delimiter so your post is not properly quoted in
the reply.

For questions like this, your first stop is Google. Use the name of the
program as a search term.

The first two files belong to your Dell All-In-One printer, so I would
leave them. The DSagent belongs to a Dell Support Agent which should
not be running in the background anyway.

I tried opening with the "Reader" and whenever I attempted to reply to
messages, they never went through. I got the message: "Fatal Errors. So, I
came back to this way of sending and reading.

Anyhow, I unchecked the box in front of DSagent, followed the prompts,
turned the computer off and back on. The folder was still there. It must be
due to some other reason. Thanks for trying to help me out anyway.

Based on all the various posts you've scattered over these newsgroups in
the last few days, it might be best for you to have a local
professional take a look at your machine. I'm not saying this to hurt
your feelings; just being practical.
