Folder Detail Views

Is there any way to erase all of the saved detail views for every
folder that I've customized, just so I can start fresh.
Thanks.

Yes there is. I'm sure there are tools out there, but I can't think of any. The quickest and easiest way is to delete a key in the
registry.

Open Regedit and navigate to this key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows

Now delete these subkeys from it:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell\BagMRU
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell\Bags
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ShellNoRoam\BagMRU
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ShellNoRoam\Bags

If you want to reset the status of the task pane items (the things in the left bar which you can expand or contract) for special
folders like the Recycle Bin, My Computer, My Documents, etc. then you can also delete this key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ShellNoRoam\DUIBags

You will probably have to reboot (or at least log off/on) for it to take effect-actually restarting Explorer should be sufficient
even although it's undesirable.

Reset All Folders
[[Click to reset the folder settings that were in effect when Windows was
installed. This does not apply to toolbar settings.]]

Apply to All Folders
[[Click to apply the current folder view to all folders on your computer.
This does not apply to toolbar settings.]]

Open a folder first, make whatever changes you want, then...
Click Tools | Click Folder Options | Click the View tab

Or just open a folder first, then...
Click Tools | Click Folder Options | Click the View tab

If you open Folder Options from Start | Run or from the Control Panel Apply
to All Folders button will not be available.

Hope this helps. Let us know.
