Folder Corruption

I have a folder in Outlook 2003 that was attached to an archive .pst file.
The message I get when trying to close this folder is "object not found".
I tried deleting the file or moving it but the folder reference still
remains. I even tried uninstalling and reinstalling Outlook thinking it
would disappear. Please advise how to get rid of this irritating folder?
