floppy drive and limited account

When a limited account is logged on the floppy drive runsfor about one
second every three seconds. It grunts twice and repeats every three
seconds. There is no disc in the drive. The computer runs fine
otherwise. The noise is annoying and I assume it's fixable. If I put
in an empty disc, the noise stops and all seems well. There must be a
bettter solution. The problem does not exist when logged on as an
administrator. Why would the drive be grunting so often? Is it drying
to read a disc when there is no disc to read? Windows XP is current
with all available updates. Any suggestions?

Try turning it off in the bios, then boot up in the limited account to let
it see their is no floppy. Shut down and turn back on and recheck.

I just tried this. After turning the floppy back on in the bios and
rechecking, it continued the original problem. What next?

Have to find the running program that is doing it.
Shut them down one at a time till its found.
Turn stuff off in msconfig.

The culprit was Bounceback Launcher, which is an automatic disc backup
program. I'll reinstall it in case it has something buggered up with
the program. If that doesn't help I'll probably leave it turned off.
Thanks for your diagnostic help.
