Flickering and Freezing during game

When I play graphics-intensive games on my Vista (specifically, Warcraft III,
Maplestory, and Dawn of War), my screen often begins to flicker. The
flickering grows more and more frequent, until the computer blacks out and
freezes for about a second. It's bearable, but it's never happened before on
my XP, and it's quite irritating, because this hardware error happens very
frequently (About 2 times per hour).

The computer always complains about some sort of "problem caused by Intel
Graphics Driver". What can I do to fix this? Should I get a new driver? And
if so, where would I get one?

Thanks.

To know whether there's an update for you graphics driver you'll have to
state the make and model of your computer. In Device Manager, what is the
current name and version of your display device? To get to Device Manager,
right click on Computer and choose Manage. Expand Display Adapter, and
double-click on your device. On the Driver tab it will give the name and
version info.

Intel Graphics card so I'm guessing you have an intergrated video card like
an Intel 950/945g.

When the video driver crashes it could be the driver isn't installed
correctly or is corrupted or something along those lines. If you haven't
yet, go to intel.com and find the latest driver for your video card. (They
have a ChipID program you can run on your computer and it'll tell you what
kind of graphics chipset you are using, then just download the driver you
need) Once updated, try the game again, specifically dawn of war. If the
same issue occurs it could be something not specific to video, OR it could
be your video card is failing/overheating or something like that.

Check your cables to your monitor as well. Not sure what else to suggest
other than to respond here and include system specs.
