Flashing Hourglass

H

Harry Williams

I am experiencing a blinking/flashing hourglass next to my cursor after
WINXP boots up. This occurs regardless of where the cursor is positioned.
Please help.

Thanks

usually means a program is trying to start/load. Does it ever stop?
Do you have excessive HD activity? HDD light flashing. computer slow to
respond?
Does Windows boot and ru normally otherwise?

In Windows, the hourglass means that your computer is performing some task. When you see the hourglass blinking, that means your computer is performing some task, and now it's done, and now it's performing another task, and now it's done, and now it's on to the next task, etc. all in rapid succession. The hourglass is positioned beside the cursor so you can see it.

No, flashing does not ever stop. No excessive HD activity. Computer is not
slow to respond. Windows boots up normally and runs normally.

Mr. Williams- I have the same problem with a constant blinking hourglass.
Running Windows XP. Did you ever get a resolution to the problem that you
could share with me? Thank you.
