flash video wont display on 1 page

J

Johnfli

I have a video that I am trying to put on the home page of my website.

I converted it from AVI to FLV.
I got a program that will take teh FLV file, and then spit out teh code for
me for the player interface etc..
(works great I might add)

Anyway, so I put the code for teh video (and I uploaded teh video file) on
my home page.

It does not display, it only shows a black box where teh video should be.
I created a new page, and copied teh video code there. it works perfectly
fine.
But again, it wont display on my home page.

Is there code or anythign that will prevent flash video from displaying???

yup, its all in lowercase.
Like I was saying, if I copy the code, put it in a different page, it works
just fine. (in teh same folder as teh page it's not working )
its very wierd.

So...like...maybe we should see teh home page?
Post the URL to the problem page.

And is the page in another folder? There could be hundreds of solutions, and
there are some great people on here, but time is very important to them and
guessing is too much of a game.

I promise you though - we do want to help

I'm not sure what you mean, there are YouTube videos that play on both those
pages.

on the main page, yes there is a you tube video.
but teh other page, you'll see it is a flash video. I downloaded teh you
tube video and converted it to flv.

R

And you're using Word to design your web? Yikes...give up.
Try using the code from the page that the flv is working on on the page you
want it to work on.
The index page needs a lot of work...and don't use Word to do it with.

Dude, don't even get me started on the word thing of the index page. I've
been wanting to redo that thing for 2 years now. I made teh mistake of
letting the owner have the password. The ODD thing about that though, it
was done in FP 2003, they just had some other web desinger page program as
well, and since then, it looks like that.

Anyway,
I am using the code that was generated for me by teh flv program. that code
can be seen here: http://www.chetadayspa.com/homevideo.htm
if you notice, it works perfectly fine.

but when I put that code in the index page, I just get a black box.

I wonder if it has somethign to do with the coding of teh index page???

Oy!

I guess I just should bite teh bullet and redo teh index page without
permission.
