Flash BIOS on A7V333 without a A: drive?

Bruce

I cannot get my A: drive to work on my A7V333. Changed cables, drives, BIOS
settings etc. Drive is seen by WinXP but cannot read a disk and system will
not boot from floppy.

Need to up grade the BIOS to install a 160 gig drive. Can I do it from a DOS
boot CD-Rom? An old Zip drive? A USB A: drive?

Anyone have any experience with this?

Thanks in advance, Bruce

I have done it from my C:\bios folder and it seems to be the safest thing to
do.
I had a floppy to boot into dos mode though.
I guess all you need is to boot in dos mode from any bootable cd or usb
device then access your new bios utility etc. wherever you saved them.
I believe a fixed HDD is a lot safer than CDs, floppy disks or usb keys, so
that's where I'd store new (and old) bios data. Well, if it is not NTFS
formatted, that is...
