FIXED WIDTH FONTS!

F

FRUSTRATED!

Can someone, anyone, maybe even someone from Microsoft, please tell how to
make fixed width fonts work with a dot matix printer such as my Okidata
ML391. When I select a fixed width font so that it will print faster using
its own internal font instead of the bit mapped TrueType fonts, it prints
about 4 lines and then nothing else. There has got to be a way to make it
send just the ASCII codes to the printer. It starts out the way! and then
it switches over. Why? Please, please, PLEASE! Someone must know what is
going on and how to get around it.
Thanks you very much in advance.

Are you using the Generic/Text Only Driver?

Are you sure your output is not sending control codes to the printer?

Try printing your output but selecting "print to file" in the print dialog. Then right-click the file you created and "Send to -> Notepad". Is it readable there? Any strange squares?
