First letter of subject line missing

When I send an email the first letter of the subject line is missing. I have
started to use a period (.) in front of my subject to prevent the first
letter from dropping. Please advise on how to fix this problem.

Did you also post this in m.p.outlook? If so, you got a reply there (and you
should disable Norton's email scanning). In the future, please don't
multipost - if you need to post to multiple groups, it's best to crosspost
instead, by posting a single message to a handful of relevant groups
(separate the NG names with commas) so that everyone can follow the thread.

I turned off the email scan for outgoing mail, restarted the computer and the
first letter is still getting cut off. Do you have any other suggestions?

Uninstall Norton completely and see if the issue changes. If so, reinstall
Norton, but leave out the mail integration completely.

I get the same error & I don't have Norton installed. I hate Norton. This
is on my wife's Vista with AVG Professional v8. I have tried turning off the
AVG protection completely and it does not change anything. In addition, my
notebook also has Vista with Outlook 07 with AVG Professional v8 and it does
not remove the first letter of the subject line when I send a message. This
is insane and I am convinced it is not a Norton error.

Examine what add-ins you have installed as this is not normal Outlook
behavior.

Start Outlook with the /safe switch to turn off all add-ins, then enable
them one by one, restarting Outlook in normal mode each time until you find
the offending add-in. Then go to the software producer's site to see if
they have an update to correct the problem.

I am not trying to double post... my post read - Outlook removes first
letter of subject line when sending.... It says 3 posts.. but I can't open it
or send.

Anyhow _ I don't have Norton. I use AVG Pro 8.0. I have completely
disabled it and still no change. Please help... this forum is almost
impossible to use. I do wish MS would make these a little easier to follow
and find the posts.

Like suggested, try uninstalling it to see if it resolves the issue. If
it does, reinstall it and leave off the mail integration.

This forum is so messed up. I keep making posts, but when I receive the
notification via email that there is a response - I don't see my post or the
supposed response. How in the world can I use this forum to help me when
nothing comes up.

Again and again I write the same information hoping that it will show up
somewhere and that someone may have a solution. But, I select the link from
my email and it takes me to a general forum for Outlook. However, I need to
use my initial search to find the threads... only to see that nothing has
changed. The most recent posts in this rediculous thread are from 2007. Not
only that, but all they ever say is either disable or remove Norton. I DONT
HAVE NORTON.... Period... I use AVG Pro v8 .. and I have completely disabled
it ... and it still happens.

WTF am I supposed to do.... why is this absolutely useless because I know
that whatever I am typing won't show up when I look for my post or any
response to it...

This is so frustrating - What can be done to escalate this problem?????

I was responding to someone with the handle "mja", not to you. That person
is the one who mentioned Norton.
