firmware upgrade - administraor privilege?

I am trying to update the firmware on my DVD burner. When I start the exe I
get a popup stating "Access denied! You must have administrator privileges
to flash drives." I am logged in as administrator and this is the DVD
writer firmware upgrade. What gives?

If the firmware flash utility is an exe file, right-click on it and select
'Run as Administrator'.
