Firewire port problem

I don't have a firewire port on my PC and there is not room to fit a
firewire card (I've tried). Any suggestions how I can connect my
camcorder to my pc? Is there an external firewire to usb or ethernet
adaptor?

Out of slots. I've got a 'basic' (but brand new) pc, The slots are
used up.

If all the PCi slots are used up on your PC, then perhaps you could replace
one of the expansion cards. Do you perhaps have a USB3 or USB2 expansion
card? Perhaps one is an eSata card? I think both of these cards would be
available with firewire ports too, so you could get a combi-card that
doubles as firewire and USB or something along those lines... What PCI cards
do you have in there?

Any chance of buying a "combo" card, with more than one function on it ?

Give a rundown on the expansion slots you've got, and what is stuffed in them.

If a video card is involved, you can state how many slots it covers, to give
some idea whether a slot could be recovered there.

Does that new PC have a removeable dial up modem?

That would free up a PCI cslot.

Unless you use dialup or fax alot thru the PC it is a worthless device. You
could always use an external modem.
