Firewire and w2k

Can anyone tell me if they have had troubles installing Firewire Ieee 1394
pci cards in P4 boxes running W2k.
Install identifies the card as a ohci compliant IEEE 1394 CONTROLLER goes
through the motions of searching for drivers finds 1394.inf in winnt\inf
directory and tries to install but comes up with

An error occurred during the installation of the device. The data is
INVALID.

finishes and the card is unusable.

Any help greatly appreciated

Finally got the answer that worked. Thanks for the couple of contributors
that helped.
Hi Dean,

Just had a similar problem with another customer. On Windows 2000 try
running Regedt32.exe, it has a Security menu up the top of the screen which
allows you to change the permissions manually. Hope this helps
