Firewall Protection w/ SP2

T

Teddy

I fully realize from experience & the March 10,
2004 "Frequently Asked Questions About Internet
Firewalls" that an AOl dial-up connection cannot be
protected by the Internet Connection Firewall in Windows
XP. So does this condition still exsists when SP2 is
installed? Or stated differently will dial-up AOL users
now benefit with Firewall protection in this new package?

Your help & knowledge is certainly appreciated!!

Yes, installing SP2 will automatically enable firewall
protection for AOL users.

Greetings --

Microsoft has improved WinXP's built-in firewall to the extent
that it will now work with AOL. (At least until AOL again
deliberately makes the next version of their software incompatible.)
