Finding my read emails

I have just re-installed Outlook 2003. Now, when I read the email in my
in-box, I can not find them after that. Where are they? Before, they
would just stay in my in-box, no longer bold, but accessible,
nonetheless. I'd like to change my settings so that I can go back to
read these emails later.

See if you don't have a filter applied to your view.
Just checking; are you sure you are in the Inbox and not in the Unread Mail
Search Folder?

In addition to what Robert said, check View>Arrange By>Current View has
"Messages" checked and not "Unread Messages".

Both of you were both extremely helpful. It was the View filter that I
had to adjust. Thanks so much for your help! I have another problem
that I will post that I could use your expertise with.

My next problem is that when I had to re-install Outlook 2003 I saved
all of my emails onto a CD. Now that I am trying to access that CD to
retrieve and move those saved emails onto my hard drive again, the CD
tells me that I do not have access to these files. What can I do?

Thanks!
