Filtering out junk mail in Outlook 2003

Uncle Scotty

I want to make outlook more discriminating in terms of filtering out
junk emails. Under Actions->Junk Emails, I can set the filter from low
to high, but how do you do this without having some good emails go into
the junk email folder and losing them?

Thanks, Scott

You can't....with every increase in your spam detection, there is an
increase in the possibility of "false positives". I suggest you regularly
empty out the junk email folder so that the 'unread message' notification is
useful information to you - but you should check for false positives &
whitelist them before purging the folder, of course.

What do you mean by whitelist? And, how does emptying out junk mail
make the 'unread message' notification useful information to me?

Thanks again, Scott

When you see a valid message that was put in the junk e-mail folder, and you
click Not Junk....

Because it will be an easy reminder for you to look at the new mail, to see
if you need to whitelist it.
