Filtering Data by Number Range

J

J.J.

I have a worksheet that looks similar to this

Company Name Data
Company1 1
Company1 5
Company1 10
Company2 2
Company2 8
Company3 1
Company3 10
Company3 11
Company3 12

1-4 = Excellent
5-9 = Fair
+10 = Poor

I would like collect the data so that it can be used in a chart.

The end result would be this

Company Name Excellent Fair Poor
Company1 1 1 1
Company2 1 1 0
Company3 1 0 3

Which I can convert into a pie chart.

I believed that a Pivot table would be easier but I did not find a way
to filter out the data by range

Any help in where to start would be great!

J.J.,

Make a pivot table, putting both the company column and data column in the row column area.
Then change the data area from SUM to COUNT. Chart from that. In later versions of Excel,
you can combine these two steps into a pivot chart.
