Filter By Form

Hello!

I'm trying to use filter by form to locate a particular
record. Just yesterday when I used the filter by form
(fbf for short)I could click on a text field and a drop
down list would appear that would list all the different
values entered in that field to choose from. Today when I
try to fbf I click on that same field and the only choices
I'm given are "Is Null" and "Is Not Null". This only
happened to some of my text fields, others still list all
the correct field values. (My form is based on a query
that draws its data from 3 tables).
The only thing I did between yesterday and today is split
my db into a front end (stored on my pc) and a back end
(stored on the server). However, if that is what's
causing the problem, I would expect ALL my text fields to
list only the "Is Null" or "Is Not Null", not just a
couple.

Can someone give me some advice?

Thanks in advance.

Check out the setting in Tools, Options, Edit/Find tab.

'Don't display lists where more than this number of records read:'

If you have more than that number of choices, then you'll get Is null/Is not
null.
