Filling out a scanned form

H

Hello
Someone tell me how to fill out a form that I have scanned and saved to a
Word Doc.

Print it and use a pencil or pen, or even a typewriter. Otherwise, use
software designed to do what you want. Forms software comes in the PaperPort
utility that came with my scanner. Word is not designed to be used for this
purpose.

If you are trying to convert a form to electronic format for use in Word on
a longterm basis, look into what Word calls an "online form." Check this in
help. For more about online forms, follow the links at
http://addbalance.com/word/wordwebresources.htm#Forms or
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Customization/FillinTheBlanks.htm especially Dian
Chapman's series of articles.

Hope this helps,

Scanned forms are actually pictures of documents, not documents, so this is not possible with Word. You could use a scan/form filler software program like PaperPort.

Sorry to all of you that say it's not possible - it is. Just put your
entries into text boxes, no fill, no border, and drag them into the correct
position.

No one said it isn't possible. It is possible. It is just a lot of work if
all you want to do is fill out one form one time. There is software designed
to do this and Word is not it.

If what you want to do is design a form for repeated use, I still would not
be doing it from a scanned form except in very unusual circumstances.
