'fill in the banks' lines

I'm trying to create a form with lines to fill in. I have MS Word 2000. I
read Dian Chapman's tutorial on forms and in it she said we could use the
Line Tool on the Drawing Toolbar. She said the lines are not affected when
the user types in the forms. It's true the lines aren't affected but the text
is affected - it moves. Am I missing something?
This would definitely be the easiest way for me to make the lines because
I'm making a real estate form with a TON of lines to be filled in. If I have
to make a table for each line it will take me forever.
Any tips would really be appreciated.

Thank you,
Jenny

A much easier method is to put the form fields in table cells with a bottom
border.

It would still be a matter of making a table for each line, is that correct?
I'm still confused.

Thanks,
Jenny

Yes, or a table for the entire form. You omit borders for all the cells
except the ones you want to have lines.
