448 mb of ram ??? XP cant defrag some files while they are in use,one option
is to open system properties, advanced, virtual memory, change to C: "no page
file" click set 2X,close out restart computer.Back in xp,go to run, type:cmd
In cmd type:CLEANMGR Clean up C: Then type:Defrag C: Once thru,type:EXIT
Go back into virtual memory and reset as it was, click set 2X Restart
computer.
