files waiting to be written to CD

Hi, every time I boot up I have a balloon which tells me I have files
waiting to be written to CD.

Firstly. how do I remove the files waiting in the "files waiting to be
written to CD" folder.

(presumably this will stop the balloon appearing)

Secondly, at boot up we also have several balloons appear one after another
telling us that the wireless network is connected etc

How do I stop them appearing.

Many thanks

Steve

Please read the replies to your previous post. If you can't find it,
search for the name you are posting with.

For the first problem, when the Balloon appears for "Files waiting to be
written to CD", instead of closing the balloon click inside the balloon which
will lead you to your CD/DVD writer drive. Here you will see all the files
waiting to be written with a down arrow on them. Select the files and delete
them. Mean while, you can also do this by opening My Computer and your CD/DVD
Drive.

For the second one, follow this:

1. Start - Run - type REGEDIT and press Enter key.
2. Go to:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced
3. Create a new DWORD value called EnableBalloonTips.
4. Give it a decimal value of 0 (zero)
5. Click OK.
6. Close regedit. May require you to restart your PC.

The easiest way to do this is GPEDIT, if you have Windows XP Professional:
An easier way is:

1. Click Start - Run - type GPEDIT.MSC and press Enter.
2. Navigate to User Configuration > Administrative Templates > Start Menu &
Taskbar
3. Double-click Remove Balloon Tips on Start Menu Items and select Enabled.

Close the GPEDIT.

Hope this help, let us know!

Default storage is here: Documents and Settings\<username>\Local
Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\CD Burning

If you are using TweakUI, go to My Computer/Special Folders see what is set
for CD Burning. Make sure it is set to a folder and not a drive.

When the balloon appears: There are two commands to the left of the
displayed files. One is Copy to CD and the other is Delete Temporary Files.

If you click Delete Temporary Files, the files listed in the box will
disappear. This will not erase the files from your hard drive, it simply
removes them from being copied to the CD.

Hi Bob I

I have tried every way I know to find your reply to my first message, but I
simply cannot find it!!

The two messages are in my "sent items" folder, (I sent the second message
because I could not find it on the forum when I looked for a reply)

I have configured the newsgroup in OE to arrange the messages by "sender"
(i.e. moonraker), and then by date, but can find only one message on CD's
waiting.............., and one entitled "test", (which I posted some weeks
ago)

I have searched in OE for all messages by "moonraker", and again there is
the two sent items on the subject, but only one in windowsxp.general.

I cannot see my first post on the subject anywhere!!!!! (perhaps we need
Mulder and Scully).

Anyhow, unless you can answer where the missing file is, could I trouble you
to post your reply on this thread.

Many thanks

Steve. (moonraker)

There were several replies. Pretty much to the effect of Deleting the
temporary files. R-click the drive Icon, Pick Delete temporary files. Or
Open the drive, click File, Click delete temporary files.
