filename.mdb is not a valid win32 application

I have a Windows 2000 SP3 workstation with Access 97 and MS Office 2003
loaded on it. I need to access a database on the network. I have several
workstations with this configuration and am able to access this database on
those workstations.

I have one workstation that if I try to access this file with a shortcut I
get an error message "filename.mdb is not a valid win32 application". If I
go to Access 97 and do file open I can open the program without any
difficulties. Our users really need the shortcut. Any ideas would be
greatly appreciated.

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling without any results.

Checked the workstation in question , and make sure that mdb extention is
associated with Access.

Do this by opening Windows Explorer, right clicking on a folder or drive.
Select proerties /Folder Options /file types ( WinXp- maybe different process
in other versions of windows)

Scroll till you find Mdb and see what application is associated. Click on
change and follow the prompts to change to Access. Make sure you browse to
the Access 97 exe.

Hope this helps
