File Upload

I'm having trouble with the file upload in frontpage xp.
I've inserted the form field, but I must create a file
that the uploaded files will be sent to and change its
properties..something about de-selecting "allow scripts
or programs to be run" and then selecting "allow
anonymous upload to this directory" for it work. But the
problem is to begin with none of the options are selected
and are all dimmed out, so i can't do anything, select
nor de-select. Does anyone know why this is and how I can
fix it?

You must open the site on the remote server directly in FP. The remote
server must have the FP2002 extensions, and your host must allow you to use
this option. Have you contacted your host?

Thanks, but...

I'm doing it through remote server, as long as that means
I'm connected to the published website on the net
directly where its hosted, and I'm right clicking,
selecting properties and still nothing, it's still all
dimmed out. My hosting definitely does have the server
extensions and I'm pretty sure I'm allowed to use this
oprion, I have the admin plan so there are absolutely no
limitations, and they let you have visitor file upload if
u connect thru ftp to my site so im sure they let u do it
directly from ur website/page. So other than that,
anything else that could be wrong?

If the setting are grayed out, then your host has not given your account the
needed permissions to be able to manage permissions. You will have to
contact your host to see it they will enable this feature.

Just because your account has the extensions, does mean that you can use all
features. Each host has the ability enable/disable certain features of the
FP extensions.

Ok cheers, I've sent them an e-mail now mentioning that,
also asking them which v. of fp extensions they using,
god forbid they using anything older than at least 2002
which wouldnt support that feature anyway. Well thanks
for that, at least now i know there's nothing wrong with
my v. of fp. Cheers =)
