I can't seem to fix the File System Errors that xp finds when I
run check disk from a command prompt window:
Corrected errors in the Volume Bitmap
Windows found problems with the file system.
Run Chkdsk /f to correct these problems.
I've run the Recovery Console (chkdsk /r) several times and each time took
about 20 to 30 minutes to complete. It gave me no indication
that the errors weren't fixed. After restarting the computer and
running check disk from a command prompt window I get the
same errors
I've checked the volume for errors from My Computer w/Scan for and attempt
to recover bad sectors checked. Same results
I've gone to the hardrive manufacturer's web site and it scanned for
errors and told me the file system has errors that needed to be corrected!
(what a brain)
Went to windows product solutions site and that was no help. Told me to try
things
I've already tried.
Since xp and seagate can't fix the problem can anyone please point me
to some third party disc utility that might help???
Thanks,
James
