file sharing

I have a home network consisting of two computers. I have My Documents
shared. However, if I create a new folder in My Documents, the private
checkbox is checked and I can't share this folder. What makes this
automatically get checked. How can I make it stop!

Very interesting reading....I did learn a few things......however I have XP
Home and the article seemed to be about XP Pro. Do I need to create two user
accounts on each computer? Currently, I am the administrator on one and my
husband is on the other. We only have one user account set up on each
computer. Could this be the problem?

XP Home does not permit sharing of users' home directories (My
Documents) or Program Files, but you can share folders inside those
directories. A better choice is to simply use the Shared Documents
folder. You are having difficulties because you are trying to share
resources in areas not normally allowed by your operating system.
