File Sharing won't work - Please help!

I am using XP Pro SP2 on a desktop & a laptop connected under a wireless
router. They are both visible from network neighborhood, but when I try to
access the (shared) files & folders from the desktop (or the other way
around), I get the following message:

"\\Laptop is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this
network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you
have access permissions.

Logon Failure: The user has not been granted the requested login type at
this computer"

How do I manage the access permissions for external users?

I have the same problem sometimes. In order to share file, I do it all from
the desk to the laptop. I take files from the laptop back to the lap top but
I do it from the desktop

Also, I set up directory (NOT MY FILES) .. I have on
laptop\datafile\word\blah blah blah I have set up sharing on my data files
directories on both machines. The directories have the same name.. You might
also want to try to transfer the entire subdirectory instead of files..
easier to keep track of the latest versions of files
