I have read many threads here and see a similar problem, but not quite the
same. My problem relates to two PCs XP home, networked both were working
fine. PC 1 was had SP2 update installed. No problems (for many months), I
installed SP2 update on PC2 and since then have had nothing but trouble with
the network. PC1 can read and share files from PC2. PC2 can sometime see PC1
and the shared folder names but can not open them. It just hangs or sometimes
will give an error saying permission to access not permitted, and sometimes
it says not enough server space. Both computers are connected to the internet
through a router, and neither has problems connecting to the internet.
The confusing and frustrating thing is that if I run home office setup
(which I have done repeatedly) sometimes it will work perfectly. But when one
of the machines is rebooted the connection is lost and it reverts to the
scenario I decribed at the beginning. i.e. PC1 can share PC2 but not vice a
versa. Any help would be appreciated.
