File sharing problem

When tryinh to share a folder i get the following
message: "An error occurred while trying to share C. the
server service is not started. The share resource was not
created at this time."

Someone please help!

Hi,
Please try the following:
1. Open control panel > performance & maintanence > administrative
tools > servcies
2. In the services console scroll down to the 'server' service
3. Right-hand click it and go to properties
4. For startup type select automatic
5. Then choose start service.
Try adding the share now (you may need to restart).

I have a similar problem, and it seems as though this would fix it, but in
the services console, I have no service called 'server' to activate. The
list goes from Security Center to Shell Hardware Detection. How do I get the
'server' service?
