File Sharing Problem

I have two PCs networked together via a Buffalo G54 router. A desktop connected by cable and a laptop by wireless.

I have enabled file sharing and printer sharing on the desktop (XP PRO) and can access the files and printer on the laptop.
However, I cannot activate file sharing on the laptop (XP HOME) when I try I get the error message "An error occourred trying to share DATA (F). The Server service is not started. The shared resource was not created at this time."

How can I resolve this?

Any help appreciated.

Start the Server service:

1. Right click My Computer, and click Manage.
2. Double click Services and Applications.
3. Double click Services.
4. Double click Server. If the Service status is Stopped, click
Start.
5. Set the Startup type to Automatic.

If that fails, see if there are any relevant messages in Event Viewer.
To run it, click Start | Control Panel | Performance and Maintenance |
Administrative Tools | Event Viewer. For more information, see:
