File sharing or internet connection, why not both?

Hi Guys,

i ve got a question for you all, for some reason i cant create a peer to
peer network on which i can share both files and an internet connection and i
cant see why

ive got a file & printer sharing network set up with static ip addresses
and that works fine but when i try to share an internet connection a message
pops up asking me to change the ip addresses to be allocated automatically,
once i have done this i can share an internet connection no problem but i
then cannot share files or printers, i thought this may of been an antivirus
software so i dissabled it and still the results are the same, any ideas?

Mark,

first try the simple things like setting both computers up for
automatic IP and automatic DNS, then rebooting both computers,
the one with the Internet connection first.

Antivirus software shouldn't have anything to do with this, but
if you run a third party firewall on top of the built-in
firewall, you're asking for trouble.
