File saved iwith AutoSave Opens blank

The Autosave in XP is set to run every 10minutes. When I
crashed and went to recover the file in the autosaved
directory it was blank. Excel 2000 seem to handle autosave
much better but it maybe something to do with my settings.
How do you recover a file if you crash. Appreciate any
feedback on this.

note: is it me or does the backspace not work for anyone
when using this form?

IMHO XP and 2003 autosave is *much* better than 2000. For one it is built
into the application, not provided as an add-in. Granted it can interrupt
work if you have a big file, but the persistence issues with XL2000's
autosave and it caused XL to crash more times than I can remember.

Normally, If XL crashes it will now offer you document recovery when you
bring it back up...simple as that

Thanks Nick

But if it doesn't offer the document recovery what should
I look for in my settings? Why does the file I autosaved
open blank. It must be a set up issue but I don't now
where to look.
