The syntax is:

convert C:/fs/ntfs

The volume label is the name against the drive you see in Explorer but I
don't see an option to add a label when using convert /?

After intering convert c:/fs:ntfs when you hit enter you see the nex step is
to enter a volume lebel.

A label is 'normally' the friendly name you want to use to identify the
drive.

Enter whatever you want to call the drive.

What did happen when you rebooted? Did 'convert' not run at all?

No it did not. I waited nothing happen.

Sorry AT but I've never used 'convert.exe' so I don't know what to
expect. I would expect a text-based screen (like the old fdisk or
format) would be displayed asking if you're sure you want to continue.
We'll have to wait for someone else to dive in and explain what should
happen on a reboot after running convert.exe
