File Extensions Changed

Somehow, I think when installing new version mindspring software; several
file extensions were re-associated to the wrong programs for running. I
changed .html from an aol back to IE Explorer etc... but all file extensions
..DAT, DAT.log are atributed to an icon relating to Creative Media Source
Play. Every file with DAT is like this. How do I find out what the default
program is for opening these files? Not that I need to open them but I do not
recall this folder icon was associated to this type of extension. I can't
find a site that lists extensions and correlates programs with each. Would
like to find a way to default to original.
