File drop down menu dissapeared

I am running Microsoft Office 2000. Just the other day one of drop dow
menus dissapeard. I am not sure what exactly happened because i wa
not there at the time and i cannot get it back. The 'file' drop dow
menu is no longer seen unlike the rest 'edit' view' ect. Please let m
know if you know a way to get this fixed. Than

How about going to Tools, Customize, Toolbars - select
the menu bar and choose reset.

Many users have reported losing commands from their menu bar. Try these
fixes (in order):

1. Open Tools | Customize. On the Toolbars tab, select Menu Bar and press
Reset.

2. If that doesn't work, switch to the Commands tab and select Built-in
Menus in the Categories list. In the Commands list, select the appropriate
menu and drag it to the menu bar.

3. If that doesn't work (or the problem recurs on restarting Word), see
