File Copy Error: "The specified Network name is no longer available"

I can no longer copy files from XP Pro SP2 to or from a W2000 Pro machine on
my LAN. I can ping each machine from either machine and my shares are
intact. This suggests there is no problem with the NIC or other tangible
assets. I have just installed SP2 on XP Pro.

Google: "The specified Network name is no longer available" shows many are
having this same problem but no specific resolution seems to have been
found. Any comments please?

Hello, I saw that article already. I'm wondering how it could be related
when the errors did not happen when running with SP1 -- they only began
after I installed SP2 -- but installing SP2 is supposed to fix that which it
appears to have caused. I suppose I should try re-installing SP2
regardless.
