OS is WinXP Pro w/SP2
I "had" Nero Ultima 6 installed. I installed ADS Tech DVD Xpress, which
comes with Ulead's Movie Factory 3 and Video Studio 7 (Standard Editions).
The video/audio capture worked as advertised. I played back a project using
Nero's Showtime. Since then, the ADS software crashes/freezes (to the point
of having to clear the CMOS). A check of the captured files showed them to
be "Nero Media Files" instead of .UVS (Ulead) files (they were .uvs before I
opened one with Nero). I tried to change the file association, with no luck.
I removed Nero from the computer and the ADS product works fine now.
The problem is that the captured files are still not associated
correctly...there is a Windows Media icon, but the file type is now Nero
Showtime.Files . The second problem is I need to re-install Nero, but not
until I learn how to reassociate the Movie Factory/Video Studio files with
the Ulead file type (UVS).
I realize that this problem involves 3rd party software, but I'm hoping
that the file association problem can be resolved through Windows.
Thanks for any help,
Fitz
