File associations can no longer find files below parent directory

Running a search, for example, hitting F3 and typing *.zip - I use the
advanced search options that mimic Win2k - the search directory will only
find items in the root. If I go to DOS and run the same search dir /s *
zip, I can find all the files. I just can't use search anymore. Anyone
have any ideas? I tried to restore to the 11th which has three restore
points - this was the day I installed the beta. On the one I created, I was
unable to restore (Windows message - unable to restore to this point, would
you like to try another).

Should I be bugging these? This is not the way windows is supposed to work.
I am reaching the point where I am feeling as though I should uninstall RC2
and return to SP1. Am I the only one with these serious issues?

It sounds like you do not have your search set up to search all the
subdirectories. Check the setup, and assure that you are actually searching
for ALL files.

Nope, that's been checked and double checked.
I have another issue as well. I'll post this separately. Outlook 2003 is
not on my machine but since installing SP2, each time I open Visual Studio
2003, I get an error and I am directed to the Office Update site and and
Updates attempts (without success as I don't have Outlook 2003 installed) to
install the junk email filter update. Go figure.
