Fifa 2004 - play without CD

D

David Zeidman

Hi,

I installed Fifa 2004 using the option to install everything. I was
annoyed by the fact that to start the game you still have to put the
CD in. Does anyone know a way to start it without the CD in the drive?

Thanks

David

You always require the CD in order for the game to validate that you have an
original CD to play the game.

This is part of the copy protection of the game and all games now some type
of copy protection that requires an original CD in the CD drive.

David,

there are plenty of sites that offer cracks to play games without
using the CDs. Most of these are for people pirating games, but while
I buy the game, I hate having to insert the cd each time. Try
gamecopyworld.com or kazaa to find nocd cracks. A word of warning:
sometimes the cracks cause problems. Like I have a nocd crack for
UT24k. It works fine if I use it in single player mode, but if I use
it during multiplayer game, it randomly kicks me out of games. I'll
usually rename my original exe something like *.origexe, and the crack
to something like *.newcexe and keep them both in the same directory.
Then, whichever one I want to use, rename it to *.exe.

To avoid using the cd, go to one of the three sites mentioned by someone
else.

There's multipule ways of eliminating the need for the original cd in the
drive.

The solution basically falls into 4 types,

1) replace or patch original file(s) to avoid any need for cd

2) replace or patch original file(s) so a backup copy of cd works
So original stays safe and unscratched etc.

3) replace or patch original file(s) so a virtual cd copy works
Uses more disk space but avoids need to burn copy or use original cd

4) use a virtual cd (Deamon tools, Alcohol) that "mimics" the copy
protection
Uses more disk space but avoids need to burn copy or use original cd

"Replace" means you download a file(s) and replace an existing file(s) the
game installed. "Patch" means you download a small progam that modifies the
original file(s).

Note 1 : methods 1,2 & 3 are sensitive to having the correct version to
match the version of the game. Also any official patches/updates the game
manufacturer provides usually will not install properly to a modified
version of the game. Thus it's best to first install the game, then go
online and get the manufacturers update patches and apply, then get the
no-cd crack specific for that version.

Note 2 : there are games where at best you need to use method 2, 3 or 4 as
the games design or other factors make it more or less unfeasible to play
without some type of cd, e.g. Final Fantasy 7 and 8 (PC versions) are like
that. In other cases, you may find a no-cd crack for a version of the game
if you have NOT patched/updated it but can't find same if the game is
updated to the latest revision. Etc. etc., almost every game is different so
experience starts counting for a lot..

Note 3 : it's also not always easy to simply create a copy of the original
cd as most burning programs stop copying if there's any "read" error. For
example, Easy CD Creator is no good for anything but "normal" cd copying.
BF1942 is an example of a "difficult" cd to copy. There's a whole education
to be learned in that area also.
